I strongly support integrating social and emotional learning into math classrooms to create a more positive, engaging atmosphere. Addressing students' emotional wellbeing will enable them to reach academic success while building resilience. One important consideration, however, is providing educators with adequate professional development opportunities and resources so they can successfully incorporate these strategies into their math instruction.
